Knitwear: Sweaters & Cardigans

Welcome to what is now an established range of hand framed sweaters and cardigans. Knitted in stocking stitch from our luxury ‘St Magnus 50/50’ angora/lambswool or “Incredible” 100% angora yarn, these classically styled garments are beautifully lightweight (a typical 36/38” sweater knitted with the 50/50 yarn weighs approx 360g/13 ozs) and warm, as well as being exceptionally comfortable to wear. In response to customer requests we are now able to offer most of our knitwear range in a raglan sleeved design as well as drop sleeves. Many customers still prefer the unique fit and comfort of luxury knitwear with raglan sleeves (see below).

These garments are NOT mass-produced, but individually made to order and hand dyed. Normal mass-produced knitwear is made on a "cut & sew" basis which can produce crude, lumpy seams and cannot accommodate individual variations.

Our small scale production methods and hand dyeing allow us to cater for a wide range of individual variations to the standard garment as well as an unrivalled choice of colours.  This is a service rarely found these days.

Angora Sweaters, (photograph at left), are knitted in stocking stitch with ribbed welts and neck line with either drop sleeves or raglan sleeves (not shown) and a choice of designs.  Crew-Neck(middle in group), Polo-Neck(right of group) or V-Neck (far left) styles. Garments have a generous 4" ease allowance, with a standard length of approx 24". Extra length can be added and sleeves can also be knitted longer (see below).  Hand wash only.  Short spin and gently ease back into shape.  Allow to dry naturally.

Colours - Natural white, navy, fawn, silver, charcoal, jet, sapphire, ruby, heather & jade. We are specialist dyers of angora.  For alternative colours see our shade card.

To ensure the correct size is ordered please follow these guide lines:
1) Choose a sweater/cardigan that already fits you well.
2) Lay it flat on a table, laid out as illustrated in the diagram below.
3) Take the 3 measurements indicated below where  A= Sleeve length; B = garment length & C = garment width.
4) Email the details to us and we will confirm the price.
